A story of finding Christ's forgiveness and standing firm, the movie follows businessman and widower Dave Corwin. Though he is working himself to death, the bills keep piling up and a foreclosure on his home seems inevitable. Blaming God for his wife's death, he ends his relationship with the church, despite his son's position in the ministry. Meanwhile, his son Steven struggles to reach his father any way he can. With the help of his friend Maggie and his grandfather, Steven realizes that he must be the Christian example his father needs, and Dave begins to move back toward God, seeking an answer to the question that has haunted him since his wife's death.
Standing Firm, the movie of finding God's purpose in suffering, also focuses on remaining joyful in the face of grief. A heartfelt film filled with hope, this DVD will have viewers laughing, crying, and experiencing the power of Christ's love and forgiveness. The film displays how we cannot fix others around us when it comes to faith, and that each person can only make decisions for themselves when it comes to their beliefs in God. When someone falls by the wayside, the only thing a person can do is pray and trust that God will help that person through their struggles. It is a moving story about faith, love and the power of prayer along with the knowledge that God has a plan for us even though we don't always understand why things happen the way they do.
