Since Grant Taylor received the news that he would be a father, he has been troubled by intense childhood memories of his own dad, Jeff, whom he vowed to disown at his 10th birthday party when he found out his father was gay. Angry and embarrassed, Grant has remained estranged from his father for 16 years. However, when Grant learns that Jeff is terminally ill and his last wish is to see his son, Grant reluctantly agrees to visit him. As father and son confront the past, they are faced with two terrifying decisions. Can Grant forgive his father for abandoning his family, and can Jeff forgive Grant for his hateful words all those years ago?
A provocative and thought-provoking film, Reconciliation will inspire you to love more deeply, seek forgiveness from people you have hurt, forgive those who have sinned against you, and, ultimately, encourage you to forgive yourself. Dove approved for ages 12 and over, this story of heartache and triumph powerfully portrays that all wounds can heal with a little time.

Dove Worldview:
"Reconciliation" is one of those rare finds among films that seek to discuss controversial topics about what God wants for us and from us. Homosexuality and religion is a hotly debated topic in the church today. However, the Bible is clear; hate sin but love the sinner. This film clearly portrays one family's struggles to achieve this goal.
While the subject of homosexuality is not treated lightly, it is dealt with openly and from a clear Biblical perspective. "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." This is something we should all be aware of and yet we sometimes forget. It is also the basis of this film. As believers we are called to love all of God's children and this film shows us that in a beautiful but tragic way. Whether you believe that homosexuality is a choice or genetically determined, there is little doubt that God loves all of us and we have a choice to follow his ways. And we must decide if we want to act on our sinful desires or follow God.
We are pleased to award this touching story our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for ages 12 and over.
