WWJD Brings Best-selling Christian Novel to Life
September 10, 2010
Rock Rapids, IA - Bridgestone Multimedia Group™, a leading distributor of family-friendly Christian movies, proudly announces the addition of WWJD to its DVD catalogue at gobmg.com.
Based on the best-selling Christian novel In His Steps by Charles Sheldon, WWJD is set in Raymond, California, a once prosperous town that has hit hard times. An ambitious politician wants to turn around the town's fortunes with a casino, and he wants to build it on the grounds of Henry Maxwell's church. Five years after his pregnant wife and young son are killed in a tragic car accident, Pastor Henry Maxwell (Jim Gleason) is inspired by a drifter (John Schneider) and sets set out to make a difference. With the help of five members of his congregation, Henry seeks to save the town from choosing money over morality.
"Although it depicts people as being greedy when they get in trouble, I think the outcome of this film will be turning people outward and seeing if they can actually help their fellow man rather than taking advantage of a bad situation," said Schneider, an actor, producer, and director whose TV credits include The Dukes of Hazzard, Smallville, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Producer and screenwriter Joe Nasser was inspired to make the film by a long struggle with cancer.
"I promised God if He thought He should heal me, I would make the movie and spread the question ‘WWJD?' to as many people as possible," Nasser said. "Well, God healed me, and I intended to keep my promise to Him."
A compelling and joyful story of life's ups and downs, WWJD also stars Maxine Bahn and country music singer Adam Gregory, who performs the film's theme song.
Awarded the Dove Family-Approved Seal, WWJD is available at gobmg.com for $22.95. DVD special features include a digital download of In His Steps, which has sold more than 40 million copies.
