The Covenant: The Story of My People Musical Traces History of Jews
June 06, 2013
(Rock Rapids, IA) - Elizabeth and Robert Muren's spectacular musical The Covenant: The Story of My People is now a live-action movie available on DVD from Bridgestone Multimedia Group.
Filmed in Jerusalem, The Covenant retraces the remarkable journey of the Jewish people from the calling of Abraham until the establishment of the State of Israel.
The film invites audiences to experience the pain of Egyptian slavery through the eyes of Moses' mother as she sets her baby in the Nile River, the loyalty of Ruth as she pledges herself to Naomi and her God, and the turmoil of the Jews in Babylonian exile.
Then, face the challenge with Esther as she risks her life to plead for her people and see the suffering of the Jews in Jerusalem under Roman occupation. In the dark centuries following, The Covenant brings viewers to the terror and tragedy of the Holocaust and the promised rebirth of Israel in 1948.
The Dove Foundation awarded its highest honor of five doves to the film, describing it as "worth every minute of viewing time."
"This DVD wonderfully showcases some awesome singing talent as it energetically tells the story of God's covenant with Abraham and how it remains true and faithful to this day," said Edwin L. Carpenter in his review for the Christian organization.
The Murens were inspired by the relationship between the Christian church and the Jewish people through history and the state of Israel today to create The Covenant, which has been performed in English, Hebrew, and Spanish. In addition to producing, directing, and writing the film, the couple composed the score, which can be heard on a CD of the soundtrack. The soundtrack includes the songs "Haman Song" by Chuck King and "Eli Eli" by Hannah Senesh and David Zehavi.
Awarded The Dove Foundation's Family-Approved Seal for all ages, The Covenant: The Story of My People is currently on sale for $14.99 from Bridgestone Multimedia Group through the Christianbook Group.
