Six Great Bible Stories Bring Scripture to Life

December 02, 2011

(Rock Rapids, IA) - Scripture-inspired reenactments bring God's Word to life in Great Bible Stories, a new DVD series available from Bridgestone Multimedia Group at gobmg.com.

Great Bible Stories: Volume 1 features six short films that depict sacred events from the Bible and Jesus' teachings. First, a blind man's sight is restored because he sees Jesus as his divine Savior ("Seeing"). Then, a woman's touch becomes an act of faith when she is miraculously healed after she touches Christ's garment ("The Touch"), and a widow faithfully gives away her remaining food during a famine ("Elijah and the Widow of Zarephath").

Several shorts in this collection address sacrifice, including the widely known stories of "The Good Samaritan," in which a Jewish man saves his enemy from certain death, and "Abekah (The Binding)," which depicts Abraham's near-sacrifice of his only son Isaac. Great Bible Stories concludes with "The Sisters of Bethany," which focuses on the important roles Mary and Martha had in Christ's ministry and teaching.

Awarded the Dove Foundation's highest honor of five doves, this DVD was praised by Dove reviewer Edwin L. Carpenter for its production value and quality.

"I was completely captured by the attention to detail in this video, including the authentic-looking costumes and even the use of Hebrew at times," Carpenter said. "I can't use enough descriptive words to state how much I enjoyed this DVD. It is thoughtful, reverential, and nicely done."

The films star Bob Nelson, Carrie Morgan, Duff Clawson, Richard Losee, Luke Drake, Dallyn Bales, Vida Sami Cannon, Ann Bosler, Tayva Patch, Stan Bronson, Lael Woodbury, Benjamin Hoppe, and Yvonne Robertson.

Dove-approved for audiences 12 and over, Great Bible Stories is available at gobmg.com for $15.26.
