Personal Experience Inspires Homeless for the Holidays

August 18, 2010

Rock Rapids, IA - An inspiring Christmas tale, Homeless for the Holidays is now available at gobmg.com as the latest family-friendly offering from Bridgestone Multimedia Group™.

The film follows Jack Baker (Matt Moore), an uncaring executive on the fast track to the top of the corporate ladder. However, when a fellow employee wrongfully accuses him, he loses his job and learns how difficult it can be to find work and compassion in today's economy. He eventually accepts a humiliating job at a burger restaurant, but with bills rapidly piling up and not enough money to go around, he quickly discovers that unless something changes soon, he'll lose everything by Christmas.

Written and directed by George A. Johnson, Homeless for the Holidays is based on Johnson's own experience of losing a job while trying to provide for his family. Using an unpaid crew, he shot the movie for just $20,000.

"It was a labor of love for all of us," Johnson said. "We became a big movie family with a common goal to create a positive movie with a message that would bring hope to the millions who are struggling in today's economy."

Johnson's previous projects include Dreamer: The Movie (2004), which he described as a "strange, thinking movie."

"I enjoy writing in any genre that allows me to tell a good story," he said. "I hope I never get caught up in a single genre for too long. I prefer to keep myself guessing."

Produced by Breathe Motion Pictures, Homeless for the Holidays received five stars from the Dove Foundation and the Family Approved Seal for all ages. Featuring additional footage, outtakes, and deleted scenes, the DVD also stars Crystal Dewitt-Hinkle, Cole Brandenberger, and Gabrielle Phillips and is available for $22.95 at gobmg.com.
