Davey and Goliath Ring in a New Year in 10th Volume

December 06, 2011

(Rock Rapids, IA) - Ring in the new year with Davey and Goliath: Volume 10, a new DVD of the popular claymation cartoon series now available from Bridgestone Multimedia Group.

Teaching children about getting along and creating new beginnings, the 1967 special "New Year Promise" highlights this enhanced collection of episodes. When Davey resolves to stop yelling at his sister Sally for her mistakes, he soon finds it easier to stop talking to her altogether. When Sally runs away from home thinking Davey doesn't love her, Davey and Goliath go on an adventure to find her in time to sound the bell at church and ring in the new year.

Volume 10 also contains the previously lost episode "Louder Please," in which a deaf neighbor teaches Davey to appreciate the sounds around him, and "The Zillion Dollar Combo," in which Davey's band must choose between a paying gig and performing for free at a children's hospital. Other episodes in this 50th anniversary DVD include "Upside Down and Backwards," "Six-Seven-Six-Three," and "Who's George?"

Davey and Goliath debuted in 1960 after producers Art Clokey and Ruth Clokey Goodell teamed with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Using the same stop-motion clay animation used in the Clokeys' hit cartoon Gumby, the wholesome adventures of Davey and his talking dog, Goliath, quickly earned the approval of parents and captivated millions of children worldwide. The show ended its run in 1975.

Davey and Goliath: Volume 10 is available from Bridgestone Multimedia Group for $12.71. Volumes 1-9, a set of the first six volumes, and a Snowboard Christmas special also are available at gobmg.com.
